As part of Government’s continuing commitment to the visitor economy, the Tourist Accommodation Refurbishment Loan Scheme (TARLS) will provide for up to $20 million to be made available over an initial two year period, for low interest loans for eligible tourist accommodation businesses operating in Tasmania.
TARLS will provide assistance to tourism operators, particularly in regional Tasmania, to improve the standard of the tourism offering in Tasmania and assist operators within the sector to lift the standard of their product or services.
Led by the Office of the Coordinator-General and Department of State Growth and administered by the Tasmanian Development Board, loans will be provided for a minimum of $50,000 to a maximum of $1.5 million. TARLS will also contribute to Priority 3 within T21 – The Tasmanian Visitor Economy Strategy 2015-2020, which highlights investment in quality visitor infrastructure.
